Dear Sirs:

I am once again writing to you, and requesting that you have a stamp made in honor of
Commander Charles “Chick” Parsons.

I have been pursing this request since 1996.
I no longer have to go into details as to why this WWII hero is deserving of a stamp, as
you already know, but I have enclosed copies three past correspondence
I have copies of all my correspondence since 1996, and it is over an inch thick.
Perhaps instead of a commemorative stamp, you can produce a small size regular issue,
as I have been hearing that the Postal Service only wants commemorative stamps that
have lots of “zip” to them, so they can sell many, like the current comic stamps.
I have also enclosed a photo of Commander Parsons that could possibly be used for the
stamp.

Another suggestion is that a commemorative stamp with Chick and the submarine USS
Stingray that played an important part in the liberation of the Philippines, be on one
stamp, thus satisfying all those veteran submariners, and “Chick” followers..
There are still some veterans of WWII that would love to see this stamp issued, but time
is marching on, and we veterans are gradually passing on.
Thanks for your consideration, and we all hope that this stamp will be issued.

Sincerely,

Richard Novick
